IB Risk – Credit Risk Management: Broker Dealer – Vice President – New York recruitment

The GCRM FIG - Americas Banks and Broker-Dealers Team is responsible for approving and managing credit risk exposures to banks and broker-dealer clients of JPMorgan's Investment Bank. The team is based in NY and partners with IB coverage (IBC), Global Corporate Banking (ACB), and Syndicated and Leveraged Finance (SLF) to cover a wide portfolio of names from a risk perspective.
Specifically, the banks and broker-dealers team:remains current on all aspects of the credit relationship, including credit exposure, documentation, potential problems and opportunities;provides credit expertise in structuring derivatives, loans and financing transactions;leads or assists in negotiating, finalizing and maintaining documentation over the life of all transactions;prepares credit analyses and seeks approval, individually or as part of a team, for all transactions creating credit exposure;partners with IBC and GCB to ensure an appropriate risk/reward relationship for all clients;maintains a credit due diligence calling effort;provides a cohesive and comprehensive approach to review ratings, risk assessments, portfolios and clients; andassists in underwriting due diligence.
Typical Job Duties
Vice Presidents have primary account responsibility and cover a wide range of clients. Specific duties include:account coverage in partnership with credit executives, associates, and analysts, including:managing annual reviews;day-to-day account management functions;ongoing monitoring of client credit profiles;leading new transaction approvals and amendments;lead due diligence on client calls;lead credit role on certain new transaction underwritings; andtraining and mentoring junior resources.We look for candidates who possess strong accounting, finance, analytical and communication skills. Product knowledge, especially of traded products (e.g. derivs, repos, etc) and traditional credit products (e.g., committed credit facilities, L/Cs, etc.)
is a major plus.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:multi-year credit analysis experience, ideally with a focus on financial institutions;proven ability to synthesize information from a number of sources;good general knowledge of traded products and traditional credit products;strong verbal and written communications skills;confidence to work with senior credit executives, business partners and clients on a regular basis; andability to work well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment.
