The successful candidate will have a strong Oracle Data Modelling, Design, and Programming background; strong performance tuning skills; and experience of analysis and consulting across all stages of the project life cycle. The candidate would be responsible for the following:'
Establish and actively champion best practice / technical standards'
Establish a full-lifecycle management model within Client Onboarding and Client Due Diligence'
Providing consultancy to project teams at every point in the lifecycle'
Work in a hands-on capacity as part of development teams requiring Oracle expertise'
Provide support (including on-call) for critical production or project issues'
Full involvement in all other team activities'
Participate in and review database designs'
Support system testing, user testing and production implementation.'
Write system documentation.'
Comply with project life cycle methodology and adhere to IT control policies and guidelines.'
Incorporate corporate architectural standards into application design specifications.'
Provide L3 support for the application, working with our partners in Risk Tech Operate.'
Helping/mentoring more junior members of the team.

Qualifications
The role, based in New York, requires someone with a strong background in Oracle development and support but who also has excellent people and organizational skills. They will need to be comfortable working across organizational boundaries and be able to gain support from key stakeholders to endorse process improvements. Quality will be a top priority, but the ability to demonstrate effective and efficient delivery will be a key measure of success.Strong Oracle DBA Background, up to and including 11g, in development and support roles'
Full lifecycle involvement, including requirements definition, functional and performance testing and deployment'
Extensive SQL PL/SQL development and tuning experience in an Application Development environment'
Data modelling, schema design and experience of appropriate CASE tools'
Excellent knowledge of underlying Linux infrastructure, performance tuning, housekeeping and monitoring'
Strong team player who is happy to work in leadership and subordinate rolls as appropriate'
Experience of working within a Financial Services organization - Ideally Investment Banking
