The applications developer will work with the following system components: excel sheets, C# .NET applications, MS Access applications, Python applications, market and analytics data distributed across tibrv bus, Sybase and MS SQL Server databases, quantitative libraries, Gemfire data caches.
The individual will be positioned to lead one of the work streams but will closely collaborate with the entire technical team.
This is an extremely hands-on, delivery-focused, technical position involving a lot of analysis, coding, testing and interfacing with business users.
Understanding of Equities Derivatives valuation and risk management is required.
Responsibilities?
Complete full lifecycle projects as well as post-production maintenance and enhancements?
Participate in requirements meetings with business sponsors and propose technical solutions for business initiatives?
Code and unit test major modules?
Prepare system test plans and conduct system testing?
Assist in the UAT testing phase?
Prepare and control production rollouts?
Support business users by answering questions, researching system issues, identifying root causes, and resolving problems?
Help position the system for future growth by independently identifying functional deficiencies and proposing improvements?
Develop and improve interfaces with other systems?
Create system documentation and keep it current

Qualifications
Required Skills:'
B.S. in Financial Engineering, CS, EE, Math, Physics or other technical major'
Understanding of derivatives valuation and risk management'
Strong communication skills and high energyo
The person will communicate with Front Office on daily basiso
The person will communicate with the rest of development team in Houston, London, and Asia'
Excel VBA, Access, C# .NET, and Python development skills'
Good understanding of Windows operating system (including Windows 7)'
Good understanding of data structures'
Experience in profiling and optimizations'
OOAD skills, knowledge of software patterns'
Strong Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills'
Functional analysis and formal analysis techniques; Requirements gathering; Use case development'
Linux/Unix skills'
Familiarity with modern messaging technologies (Rvd, Qpid, etc.)'
SQL skills'
Experience of working in front office environment at major investment bank'
