JPMorgan's Futures and Options group is one of the largest financial futures and options brokers in the world. The Firm is a market leader in providing research, sales, execution and clearing services to clients on over 70 futures exchanges globally, offering fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodity related products. The Futures Options group leverages JPMorgan's global network, setting up direct exchange memberships through local offices. In line with client demand JPMorgan is constantly reviewing the list of exchanges that it offers in order to ensure that it provides clients with access to the exchanges they require.
The IB Core Processing Technology group is a solutions provider for multiple lines of business with JPMorgan, providing Business services across all asset classes. The Core Processing group is a 800+ team of dedicated technologists and home to the Futures Options Clearing Technology group providing clearing solutions to the Futures Options business. The team is also responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects, working closely with our technology partners, business stakeholders, product and finance controls.
The Futures Options group is embarking on a multi-year strategy to transform the business end to end across technology, operations and wider business teams. As part of this initiative Core Processing Technology is now commencing the Futures Options Processing Platform (FOPP) Platform Evolution program. This will cover a number of significant end-to-end programs and projects to evolve and rationalize the current technology stack inline with a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) strategy. There will be collaboration across multiple teams through the trade lifecycle to achieve these goals and provide significant value to the business. The FOPP platform includes exchange interfaces, clearing, settlements, accounting, data management and regulatory reporting.
Role Description
The candidate will be required to provide BA inputs on a wide range of FO Clearing projects ranging from platform evolution, to new markets and products, and compulsory regulatory changes in the wider industry.
They will be required to act as a conduit between the Operations and Business stakeholders, and the development team to ensure all requirements are documented and understood by technology staff.
With strong knowledge of the GMI system and FO processes, they will be required to provide solutions on complex tasks that will involve the flow of data to and from GMI, whilst disseminating their experience and knowledge to the wider team to ensure the core skills of the team are grown.
As a key individual in the region with knowledge of the GMI system, the candidate will be required to investigate and manage to completion issues raised by 1st Level support as part of a wider global Level 3 analysis and support team.
Skills
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate business requirements to a technical audience and vice versa.
- Ability to write clear, concise and accurate Business Requirement and Functional Specification documents.
- Extensive knowledge of the SunGard GMI system and FO Operations processes. Recent experience with FO is required - preferably with the FO markets in the APAC region.
- Strong knowledge of the FO business and markets - including understanding of clearing processes, margin calculations and settlement flows.
- Knowledge of AS/400 commands, IBM query and SQL.
- 5+ years experience in Investment Banking Ops/Technology or similar roles in the Finance Industry.
- Proven success in a large, global operating environment, with ability to work within cross cultural teams.
- Strong control and process background.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task and independently cross prioritise.
