IB Technology, VP — Global Market Risk Team Lead recruitment
The role for the Singapore lead is being established to further solidify the GMR IT commitment to delivering a global support and development function across Global Market Risk technology (GMR IT). The GMR IT team are responsible for ensuring that Risk Management (or Coverage teams) are provided with a robust toolset for managing the portfolio risk of the firm. The team is also responsible for ensuring the Coverage are provided with the tools for been able to explain their risk positions both internally and externally (regulators) this is function is typically supported by the Risk Reporting teams another key client of GMR IT. The Singapore Lead will therefore be expected to be able to support the coverage and reporting teams immediate needs as well as navigate them through the rapidly changes in the Tech Risk landscape.
The candidate will be required to facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation. You may be required to work with the business and IT to identify, assess and document various business requirements, recommending business priorities and providing advice on options, risks and costs.
This role is likely to be varied and evolve over time, also given that it is new position it would additionally require a candidate who is able to solidify and establish both the position and that of the new team adding value to both the regional clients and the broader technology team.
Desired skills:
This role is both a client relationship and a project management role managing a small team of developers (2) the team and will be expected to support the local client base (located across a number of Asia locations including Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo). The team will also contribute to the regular BAU book of work that is required on the MaRRs platform and will over time also start to own specific program deliverables - particularly should Asia specific regional regulations be introduced such as CAD2 and Volcker have been this team will be expected to own the Technology response. The team will build a close relationship with the offshore Bangalore development team and on specific deliveries work closely with the developers in this office.
Skills
Essential Skills Experience
- Strong Professional Business background (min 5 years).
- Financial Product Knowledge including business analysis and relationship of business requirements to technology platforms.
- Proficient in Data Analysis and able to run queries, evaluating data in database.
- Risk Management Experience, ideally Market Risk Management.
- Broad technical background - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS access, PowerPoint.
- Understanding of customer business being supported, and the technology underlying those businesses.
- Problem resolution - good investigation and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
- Excellent Influential and motivational skills.
Preferred Skills Experience
- Experience in implementing global working practices, systems and tool sets is an added advantage.
- Good personal organization skills.
- Ability to assimilate information and assess impact on process.
- Good general knowledge of management information and data presentation
