IB Technology, VP – Lead Systems Analyst (Derivatives Core Processing) recruitment
This role is for a Lead Systems Analyst to take responsibility for the analysis and support for the Decision Manager and Notifier applications within DCPP. There will also be opportunity to manage system enhancements end-to-end.
It will require close liaison with other application team members (e.g. Project Managers, Developers, Component tester, Business Analysts) and manage them through project design, build, testing and implementation phases.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Systems Analyst you will:
- Gain an understanding of the business processes supported by the DCPP system, mainly focused on confirmation and settlements.
- Gain an understanding of the technical architecture of the DCPP system, and the underlying data model and processes it supports.
- Work with the build team to translate business/technical requirements into development requirements, and provide estimates.
- Lead design discussions to ensure technical solutions are feasible.
- Comply with the JPMC Project Life Cycle requirements
- Assume full ownership of the enhancements and take accountability for timely implementation of the enhancements.
- Expect to own the requirements from end to end (checking that the development team understand the requirements, supporting UAT testing)
- Work with the sponsoring business users to prioritise the enhancements, and then work with the build and test teams to ensure delivery per the agreed plan.
- Plan and execute System Testing on the build items you have analysed.
- Establish and maintain enhancement time line communicate project status, risks and impacts to both the business and technology teams
- Form excellent working relationships with all involved teams at various levels of seniority
- Provide regular updates to line and project management of progress and ensure escalation of any serious issues.
- Provide ideas on improving existing business processes to achieve $ saves.
- Lead a cross location team of systems analysts and provide excellent application support.
Skills
To be effective in this role you must:
- Have an understanding of the operational process around the settlement of FX/Derivatives trades or corporate/retail foreign exchange payments
- Have had substantial experience with Business Process Modelling (e.g. jBoss JBPM)
- Have a good understanding of data modelling and ability to understand and create SQL.
- Have a good understanding of the end-to-end software development life cycle and project planning.
- Have proven interpersonal skills to establish excellent working relationships with a wide variety of people
- Have the ability to analyse, document and track technical requirements
- Have the ability to identify project risks, impacts, and propose appropriate risk mitigation options
- Be structured, systematic and analytical in your approach
- Enjoy working to deadlines to realise the business benefits associated with IT projects as early as possible
- Have excellent communication skills to ensure relevant information about the project flows to the right recipients
- You must have at least 6 years experience of working in a Banking environment
- Have a good understanding of structured analysis tools and techniques i.e. UML (Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Class diagrams etc)
Ideally you will also:
- Have had exposure to Sybase.
- Have had exposure to XML (XSLT, xPath, xQuery etc)
- Have had exposure to QPID
- Have had experience of writing requirements in "Use Case" format.
- Development experience not required but would be a bonus.
