IBD HR Lead Analyst recruitment

The HR IB Analytics team sits within the Performance, Reward and Analytics function in HR with staff based in the UK, the US and in an offshore service delivery center in Poland. The IBD Lead analyst will sit with the IBD HR team in New York and will report to the Head of IB HR Analytics in London.

The Lead IBD analyst will work closely with the Global Head of IBD HR in New York, providing support, expertise and direction on all matters relating to HR reporting and analytics including the annual performance and compensation review. Additionally, the analyst will work with internal clients at all levels (in HR and the business), thus strong skills in building, developing and managing relationships is essential.

HR Analysts are responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of HR analytical services on topics such as headcount, compensation and workforce planning. These reports will be sent to a variety of recipients, such as HR Business Partners and senior line managers within the business. Analysts are expected to have a high level of attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.

The main data source for these reports is a data warehouse, which operates on a Business Objects platform (BOXI). The main output format is Excel, thus a deep knowledge of either system is essential, whilst advanced knowledge of both is highly desirable.

As the only analyst in the IBD HR office, the successful candidate will need to work in a stand-alone capacity throughout the day. Additional resources in London and Poland will be available to the lead analyst, as well as support, guidance and assistance from the other lead analysts based in London, New York and Stamford, CT.

IB lead analysts work together to ensure consistency across the IB reporting space and are expected to input into conversations around best practice as well as taking ownership for discrete packages of work, e.g. projects or process redesign. Delivery of these work packages will depend upon co-ordinating other members of the global team, so a proven track record of managing or working in project teams is highly valued. The clearest example of this is Core Cycle which is the UBS performance and compensation review - lead analysts are required to steer their groups through this process to ensure successful delivery during periods of high intensity.
A good knowledge of HR systems and practices would be advantageous, as the analyst will be required to understand the data that they are reporting upon to ensure accuracy and to field questions from individuals within the business.
The HR analytics team is involved in working with confidential information, hitting tough deadlines and maintaining accuracy with rapid response times. Analysts need to be reactive to specific business needs and also pro-active in terms of improving data flow, human capital planning and the development of key metrics. Quality of information is paramount as is discretion, as the work is often highly confidential. Ability to work in partnership as part of a small, close-knit team and multi-task is essential.
