Job Duties / Responsibilities (specific to the department, location or position)
- Monitor the usage of utilities to prevent excessive consumption at current processing rates
- Monitors and recognized dangerous and/or emergency conditions within the process and performs procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process/facility in order to protect personnel community, environment and equipment.
- Work with coworkers in the response to emergency situations requiring coordination, equipment or plant shutdown, and/or evacuation
- Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems
- Operates and performs activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures
- Writes repair work requests for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of normal operations within a CMMS (MAXIMO) maintenance reporting system
- Performs other work related duties as needed
- Utilize proper Lockout/Tag out operating and safety procedures
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits up to and including (4160 volts)
- Read, understand, and red line wiring diagrams and schematics
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair UPS systems, and auxiliary equipment including generators
- Must have a working knowledge of PIDs, electric schematics and technical manuals and data
- Ability to work under DOT, OQ and PSM regulation
· Install repair and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, circuits, wiring and other electrical system equipment and associated components in compliance with electrical codes, standards and regulations
· Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Minimum Essential Qualifications (include physical requirements)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two year associates degree in electrical maintenance or five years electrical maintenance experience in the commercial or petrochemical industry
- Valid driver license.
- Able to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.
- Able to work in close quarters, work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives and the ability to work abnormal work shifts to meet plant conditions..
· Knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code
· Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, and physical
- Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams and internal and external customers
Preferred Qualifications (used as a tool to prioritize candidates that meet minimum qualifications)
- Master electrician license preferred not required
- Experience working as a self starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative efforts.
- Familiarity with personal computers, and proprietary software.
- Working knowledge of interfacing with DCS (Distributive Control Systems) and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
- Willing to become part of the Emergency Response Team
The Targa Midstream Services, LP Mont Belvieu Complex is located one mile North of I-10 on 146 near Mont Belvieu Texas. This complex includes a fractionator, rail, truck and undergound storage that is run in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
