IFS provides middle office/trade support, fund accounting, administration, tax, and compliance services to hedge fund managers. IFS combines its experienced teams of trained financial service professionals with sophisticated software development talent to create a superior middle office and trade support infrastructure that features Straight-Through-Processing (STP) and real-time information. The responsibilities of the operations group is to provide clients with trade capture and processing, trade allocation, confirmation, and settlement, prime broker interfaces, repo processing, security pricing and OTC valuation, and collateral management/treasury services.

Job Description:
This role will lead the Trade Operations Department for IFS, the Hedge Fund Servicing business within State Street Alternative Investment Solutions. This role is responsible for managing a global team of 200+ professionals located in New York, Boston, Ireland and Poland, and is responsible for delivering trade capture and processing, trade allocation, confirmation and settlement, security pricing and OTC valuation, and treasury/collateral management.
•Meet with new and potential clients to determine service needs. Oversee the development of business requirements and work with our IT department to ensure client requirements are satisfied.
•Interact on a daily basis with client and counterparties to evaluate services.
•Maintain flow between Operations working groups, production support and system development groups. Sourcing Solutions for new product types.
•Work closely with the broader IFS operations management teams to develop process efficiencies.
•Organize and lead Operational focus groups and meetings.
•Work with industry organizations and utilities to drive solutions to market issues and respond to changing regulatory requirements (e.g., working with Markit, DTCC, etc.)
•Develop service teams to properly cover client requirements.
•Review policies and procedures to ensure team compliance.
•Ability to set aggressive yet achievable goals and evaluate performance of Manager and Trade Support Associates for results.

Skills

•Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
•Proven professional skills - At least 15 years' experience with sell-side or hedge fund middle and back office.
•Demonstrated skills in leading and developing staff
•Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
•Understanding of Visual Basic and SQL.
•Hedge Fund Middle Office or Administration experience is required
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
•Ability to document development requirements to create automated processes for Operations
•Excellent follow-up and problem solving skills.
