Overview:
Image Analysts apply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts regarding imagery analysis. In this role, you’ll perform a variety of critical activities ranging from analyzing data collected by sensors on intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and conducting analysis to support and extend the finished imagery reports, to ultimately providing intelligence/imagery analytic solutions to a wide range of difficult mission planning problems.
Sample Responsibilities, Based on Experience:
- Provides expertise in image engineering, to include: imagery, geospatial, and computer sciences, sensor design, imagery and geospatial collection systems, image acquisition, image exploitation technologies, imagery analysis/evaluation, geospatial information production processes, and systems dissemination methods and tools.
- Gathers and monitors imagery and related metadata to identify product quality concerns and recommends engineering investigation.
- Leads an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify highly advanced intelligence/image analytic systems and system solutions.
- Develops new strategies and processes to provide unique data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Technical Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in mathematics, science or information technology.
- Solid understanding of motion and airborne imagery functionalities, NTM imagery and reporting, non-EO imaging, and tasking of overhead collection systems.
- IMINT experience.
- Proficiency in commercial and government software to include: WARP, REMOTEVIEW, NES, and IWS.
- Proficiency in traditional imagery exploitation.
