UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Immunohistochemistry Dvlp Tech to help support the day-to-day operations of the Histology Lab Department.

The CAP accredited histology lab provides services to two award winning level I trauma hospitals that include transplant pathology, molecular diagnostics, in-situ hybridization, electron microscopy and research. The lab produces an estimated 450,000 HE stains and 220,000 IHC stains annually. This cutting edge laboratory is seeking a professional, dynamic technician to develop new antibodies and immunohistochemical stains for both research and clinical use.  A strong candidate will have a working knowledge of IHC techniques, validations and equipment as well as some research experience.


Basic Qualifications:

- Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited HT program w/in the last 5 years or an Associate's degree or at least 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry

- B.S. degree in Biological Science, Basic Science, Chemistry or related field is preferred

- 6 years of total experience is required

- 2 years operational experience with advanced immunohistochemisty

- 4 years of Histology experience in paraffin and frozen tissue histology

- ASCP license

- HTL (ASCP) certification is preferred
