Position Summary

    Under general direction of the Field Implementation Manager responsible for the Project Management and timely complete implementation of AmerisourceBergen Technology Group (ABTG) products and services at the customer’s site. Projects that are assigned to the Implementation Specialist I are often single phase or smaller projects that may require the support of others. Further, this position must provide progress reports, project plans, proposals and presentations within ABC-SG, our sales organization, and our customers . The Implementation Specialist I will possess a good balance of project management and technical skills and will be able to effectively interface between our customers and our in-house technical staff including Implementation Support Specialist, Integration Engineers, Client Support Engineers, Field Service Technicians, Quality Assurance, and Developers. This person must be able to understand how the components of our systems work, work with all internal technical subject matter experts to successfully resolve technical problems, develop action plans and communicate progress to the customer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for planning and ensuring the effective execution of AmerisourceBergen Technology Group (ABTG) products and services at the customer's site.
  2. Responsible for following the AmerisourceBergen Field Implementation Policy's and Procedures.
  3. Develops, refines, validates and ensures completion of all project work plans.
  4. Responsible for resource requirement definition, assignation and scheduling that will include customer personnel, ABDC-SG personnel, and outside contractors.
  5. Manages project communication with ABDC-SG personnel and customer personnel.
  6. Leads project teams by developing project plans within guidelines and monitoring progress on project milestones.
  7. Generates timely and concise communications to functional leadership regarding project status and pending issues.
  8. Builds consensus among multiple groups/departments relative to project scope, task execution, staffing, and issue resolution.
  9. Interacts with project sponsors, stakeholders and various project members to ensure that specified business needs are met; responsible for the post-implementation analysis to ensure that requirements are fulfilled.
  10. Analyzes processes and makes recommendations for improving efficiency, product delivery, and expense reduction in projects.
  11. Responsible for maintaining close communication between Marketing, Product Managers, and Developers on detailed enhancement requests
  12. Completes and submits all administrative reports on time such as expense reports, project status reports, project plans, and customer training and acceptance documents.
  13. Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires five (5) to seven (7) years of project management experience implementing projects involving Pharmacy automation a plus; Healthcare experience preferred.
