Import Clerk Birmingham Job in Birmingham, Midlands UK
An excellent job opportunity has occurred working for an expanding freight forwarder within the Birmingham area. They are looking for an Import Clerk who has gained knowledge of the freight forwarding industry and for someone who is looking to join a growing company to develop and progress their career.
Duties Responsibilities Include:
*Receiving/sorting customer documentation
*Job loading - obtaining clearance point/devan point information
*EDI downloads
*Chasing missing documents/ensuring records are kept
*Set internal IDD's
*Reserving or requesting cheques to be raised for shipping lines and other forwarders
*Releasing/Lodging endorsed B/I's
*Obtaining UCN and using the Port Inventory Systems
*Obtaining pre bookings for customers to avoid delay upon customs clearance
*Liaise with customs and Port Authority to release cargo
Experience Qualifications Required:
*Previous freight forwarding experience essential
*At least two years' experience in a similar role
*Excellent customer service skills/telephone manner
*Confident individual
*Working Knowledge of LIMA
*Excellent accuracy skills
*Use of Destin8, CNS Compass, CHIEF or Datafreight
