We have an immediate need for a IMPORT / EXPORT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
6+ MONTH CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT WITH POSSIBILITY OF GOING DIRECT
Candidates with a Customs Broker License preferred.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring full compliance for all Import transactions including issuance of clearing instructions, monitoring and auditing import process.
Reconciliation, Post Release Reviews
Advise and train organization on Export/Import compliance program
Generate, run and analyze reports, e.g. ACE, to ensure fully compliant performance
Competencies:
Excellent knowledge of US Customs regulations, US Tariff database, General Rules of Interpretation and Commerce Control List, Brokerage
Advanced knowledge of Trade Preferences, Duty minimizing programs, Other Government Agencies regulations and Valuation regulations
Well experienced in the field of auditing Import transactions
Advanced computer skills including Access and SAP
General Requirements: Job Family Responsibilities:
Ensures conformance with applicable laws and regulations and ensures regular training is conducted on regulatory affairs/compliance issues. Responsible for the investigation, remedy, and disciplinary sanction of complaints and violations. Ensures any criminal proceedings or proceedings that may result in sanctions are handled in accordance with corporate interests, including complex assessment and forensic services. Consults on an ongoing basis on complex related issues with operation managers and executives. Maintains broad knowledge of legal and political developments in the compliance area and safeguards corporate interests in relevant legislative procedure. Prepares complex regulatory compliance reports to management and to regulatory bodies.
Education:
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification may be required in some areas.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
