Opportunity
An opportunity exists for the appointment of a Retail Income Accountant within the MG Central Finance Records Team.
The Income Team will be responsible for the accounting and control of actual income data, production of plans, forecasts and associated statutory and management information for income across all MG business units and entities.
The team will interact with all Finance teams and the Business - in conjunction with the BU finance teams.
Key responsibilities
Area of Direct responsibility - Across all business areas
* Responsibility for production of aggregated monthly PPL income management accounts. This will include income earned across all MG business units.
* Develop an understanding of the statutory financials of PPL and the capital requirements of the PPL business and how it relates to the management of accounting income.
* Eliminate reporting inconsistencies between the MG aggregated numbers and the numbers calculated by Prudential.
* Play a lead role and drive the on-going development of PPL income reporting; review, challenge and document the finance processes that support PPL.
* Production of published quarterly forecasts and three year strategic plans for areas covered.
* Proactively build relationships and work effectively with Prudential Finance (Reading) who oversee the aggregated PPL management and statutory financial reporting.
* Provide expertise surrounding all areas related to PPL income and share this information across Finance and the wider Business areas.
* Review and monitoring of Investment Management Agreements relating to PPL ensuring that these agreements reflect current billing arrangements.
* Keep abreast of business and project developments; provide input and analysis with the wider finance team.

The role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Qualified accountant with a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA,CIMA).
* Strong Excel Skills.
* Experience of Hyperion and SUN an advantage
