General Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Income Supports Supervisor, provides direct and indirect income supports coaching through Lifeline’s Financial Opportunities Center. Services are provided in a culturally sensitive manner that is consistent with Lifeline’s philosophy and mission.

Specific Activities

Provide one on one coaching, where independent decision making is needed, to Financial Opportunities Center (FOC) clients in the areas of public benefits, community resources, and emergency assistance.

  • Provide assessments for FOC populations in the area of emergency assistance and income supports.

  • Assist Financial Coach in creating effective bundled services to create long term financial stability for FOC participants and achieving contract success.

  • Work with clients to identify strengths and establish rapport for the purpose achieving financial stability.

  • Make independent decision and uses good judgment in the day to day operations of an offsite office.

  • Assists with intake line to screen potential FOC clients for eligibility.

  • Conduct Income Supports Workshops to FOC participants and general community.

  • Carry a caseload that requires frequent contact with follow up activity that includes client interview and data tracking. Services are provided in an office and home setting.

  • Track short and long term client progress in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) as required by contract.

  • Work closely with collaborative partners and community for the purpose of increasing financial success amongst participants and achieving contract objectives.

  • Attend and participate in Family Self-Sufficiency program meetings, Income Supports program meetings, group supervision, retreats, committees, trainings, and other collaborative activities as necessary and required by the program and contract objectives.

  • Oversee and train interns/volunteers.

  • Maintain collaborative case files for each client.

  • Provide support, advocacy and referral for clients as necessary.

  • Provide community outreach to promote program (via presentations, articles, flyers, etc.)

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationship with community based organizations and providers of public benefits to assist in achieving contract objectives

  • Assists in program development, maintenance and resource identification.

  • Translate documents and forms as necessary.

  • Completes monthly progress reports for submission to Director.

  • Provides services during the weekend and evenings as needed.

  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    BA + 2 years relevant experience required. Must be able to work independently, use good judgment, and decision making at a satellite office location. Ability to work in a high-risk community with a diverse population. Compatible with the agency purpose to build partnerships in North County and deliver services to children, families and individuals, that resolve problems, increase skills and nurture self-reliance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy required. Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Current California Driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
