(Full job profile available on request)
My client, an international insurance organisaton are seeking an experienced Independent Non Executive Director who can chair the Audit Committee. Ideally, the INED should have audit, control or compliance experience in a Financial Services environment and with a sound knowledge of corporate governance. The INED should have a University degree and a professional qualification.
The INED must ensure that he/she has sufficient time to devote to the role of Director of the Company and associated sub committee responsibilities. It is expected that the duties as Director of the Company will require an annual time commitment of at least 36 hours based on an assumption that he or she will attend at least 4 Board meetings, each of 3 hours in duration and will spend 3 hours preparing for each such meeting and with the sub committee meetings taking up to 12 hours including preparation. This is an indication of the amount of time that will be required to devote to the role as a director, but the actual time commitment necessary to perform such role may be greater depending on the number Board meetings actually held and circumstances generally.
The INED will be required to exercise sound judgement and decision making independent of the views of management, political interests or inappropriate outside interests.
