POSITION OVERVIEW:

MSCI Index Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships as well as new business development. Each person travels within their respective sales territory to meet with clients regarding new products as well as enhancements to existing products.

Day-to-day the role involves positioning and closing sales of MSCI standard and custom index subscription data, passive fund and ETF licenses. These sales are made to our current as well as prospective clients with sales specialists utilizing their knowledge of the various departments within the UK buy-side to position MSCI.

This role is a highly visible one working in a high pressure, highly targeted, sales driven environment. In addition to the management of senior level relationships, the role also demands a consummate relationship builder, both internally and externally, in order to drive sales and hit revenue targets. Key to this role is the creation and timely execution of pipeline which the sales specialist takes full ownership of. In this role, individuals will work very closely with global Client Service, Marketing, Legal, Business/Product Management, and Finance/Billing departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• High level management contact

• Strategic Planning with an account

• New product placement

• Answer detailed client inquiries about MSCI products and methodologies

• Creation and timely execution of pipeline

• Achieve targeted revenue goals in a high pressure sales environment

• Inform all clients about MSCI Barra’s products, announcements, projects, etc.

• Work with other departments (Client Service, Legal, Contracts, Billing, etc) to ensure that all client requests / inquiries are managed appropriately

• Maintain accurate records regarding account visits, client conversations, finalized contracts, etc

• Proactively solicit client feedback regarding new initiatives and future product development

• Provide feedback from clients to Marketing, Sales, Research and Product Development groups

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Thorough understanding of the asset management industry with experience of benchmark equity index, passive fund and ETF products

• Understanding of / experience dealing with major UK investment institutions

• Strong sales closing skills

• Sales experience with a proven and quantifiable record of developing new business and rapidly identifying opportunities in the market.

• Superior communication and strong presentation skills

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects

• Strong understanding of the global equity and fixed income markets

• A self starter and highly motivated innovative, client-orientated with an ability to identity market opportunities

• Ability to work individually and within a team and effectively communicate internally and externally

• Absolute personal and business integrity

• Bachelor’s Degree Required. MBA, Masters Degree and/or CFA charter holder are a plus.

• Language capability is beneficial but not mandatory
