Index Specialist
You will be responsible for maintaining the quality standards within the Index Delivery team, collation, analysis and manipulation of index related data to support index and product builds according to client requirements. You will ensure system testing and validation of index structures and products, as well as assisting in the provision of commercial terms for new custom requests and the collation and maintenance of index delivery schedules.
You will create and maintain index specifications and supporting documentation whilst adhering to agreed processes for index build, testing, validation and handover to live in order ensure highest quality levels. You will ensure our clients and supported effectively and their queries are resolved in a timely and professional manager. You will be responsible for testing, validation and comparison of existing and new index data items for FTSE products. You will also provide technical support to sales, marketing and client service functions providing expertise on existing and new calculations and products; meeting and supporting clients and other external parties as required
To be the successful applicant for the position you should:
- Possess good knowledge of SQL database queries and statements
- Have an advanced level Excel and be able to automate tasks using macros and complete advanced analysis of data
- Knowledge of financial services environment
- Attention to detail
- Highly organized with a meticulous approach to procedural control and documentation
- Entrepreneurial driven and excellent Team Player
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience in a client facing role would be advantageous
