The Client
A leading Singapore law firm with a unique appreciation of the complex legal and regulatory challenges faced by enterprises in Asia Region.
The Position
- You will be a fee-earner as an Indonesian foreign law consultant, with a main role of business development with Indonesian corporates and financial institutions.
- You will be focused primarily General Corporate/Commercial/Finance in Indonesia business based in Singapore office. Frequent travel is expected.
- You will have a high degree of responsibility and autonomy and we will be looking to you to front some of the cases we handle.
- You will be working with recognised leaders in their fields and a collegiate and close knit team.
The Candidate
- The candidate should have 6 years or more post-qualification experience in private practice or inhouse position, and may currently be at senior associate level.
- The candidate should be from a medium to large firm but should preferably have had international experience in other significant fields apart from corporate law, e.g. TMT, coal mining and other natural resource, agriculture and biofuels
- Indonesian Qualification in other jurisdictions would be viewed favourably.
- A Singapore-qualified lawyer with significant Indonesian exposure and experience but not Indonesian qualified is not ideal but may be considered.
- General corporate/commercial and finance experience with familiarity in both regulatory and transactional work, especially credit and security; foreign ownership restrictions and PMA companies
- Must be commercially minded; any side interest and knowledge in particular industries would be highly valued
