Fixed term – approx 18 months
Norske Skog is a world leading producer of newsprint and related paper grades in 14 countries. The Boyer Mill is located in Tasmania alongside the Derwent River, 36 km from Hobart, and is a major contributor to the Tasmanian economy supplying around 40% of the Australian newsprint demand.
The focus of the role is to provide quality leadership and technical advice to our maintenance and operational areas. You will lead complex troubleshooting, implement effective practical solutions and optimise capital improvement projects.
Essential requirements
- A degree or advanced diploma in electrical engineering
- Industrial engineering experience and flexibility to work on a combination of maintenance and project work
- Capacity to provide trades leadership, practical focus toward work and advanced fault finding ability
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call roster
- Demonstrated proactive commitment to health, safety and environment
- Specific experience in the following areas would be highly regarded
* High and low voltage distribution
* Large AC, DC and synchronous motors
* DCS and PLC systems
* Instrumentation
