POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Plan, layout, and perform a variety of installations, maintenance and repair operations on a full range of electronic control devices, circuits, related electrical, mechanical servo-control circuits including interfacing computer controls on rollforms, press brakes, punch presses and similar equipment and auxiliary apparatus used in the manufacture of metal ceiling grid and accessories.
Design, install, maintain, and repair electronic systems, simple and complex electrical control panels, and circuits computer control systems and program or make changes in computer programs on CPU controlled equipment. Tear down complex units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts and wiring, reassemble, set, and adjust or reprogram system for proper operation. Required to be knowledgeable in PLC programming, electronic transistors and all solid state devices. Required to be knowledgeable in hydraulic, pneumatic system controls and computer control operation. Report computer program and wiring schematic changes to Supervisor and Engineering Department to up date prints. Work with Engineering Department to correct errors in wire drawings or diagrams to maintain up-to-date prints.
In addition to the above, duties include performing various mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs on all acoustical machinery and equipment in the department. Assemble and re-install conveyors, payoff mandrels and cut-off presses. Replace, relocate and re-install, align and level machine and equipment to required accuracy and check to insure effective operation. Assist in the installation of production machines involving rigging, alignment, balancing and attaching necessary accessories. Perform maintenance repair arc welding and burning procedures. Be capable or installing and wiring motors and auxiliary electrical equipment for small or large, simple or complex machines involving controls with multiple interlocking and safety devices and requiring use of conduit boxes, and other accessory parts.
Detect and report faulty material, improper operations and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Inspect various machines required by OSHA, record areas of possible faults and potential failures, and turn in report to supervision for scheduling corrective action. Must be capable of fabricating simple weldments, brackets, and hangers as required.
Required to work with other maintenance and production personnel in the performance of maintenance functions on various acoustical production units. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Maintain work records and other related data.
Perform all work in a safe manner, follow all company prescribed safety rules and regulations, including lockout procedures and checking circuitry prior to making repairs or servicing equipment.
Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
Key Functions:
· Safely perform maintenance on electrical equipment used for acoustical production and various plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
· Design, install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment systems.
· Work from detail prints, schematics, samples, drawings, and/or verbal instructions
· Safely utilize PC, PLC, Meters, Computers, Welding, Bench, and various other tools.
· Maintenance record keeping

· Operate various types of Mobile Equipment (Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.)
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years related industrial electrical and mechanical experience.
· Roll forming and power press manufacturing experience is a positive.
· Must have strong experience in PLC programming,
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
· Ability to lead, manage and communicate with all levels of operation.
