Our client is a global network of engineers and associated professionals who have recently been awarded a $ 2.3 billion dollar construction package. This forms part of a $50 Billion joint venture off the Northwest Shelf, which will develop and deliver LNG to meet market demand with extensive future expansion plans. Due to the increase in operational tempo the need for a talented Industrial Hygienist with dive, ambition flair has arisen.   

Successful candidates will be initially working at facility in Henderson south of Perth before being mobilised to Barrow Island on a 26/9 roster. As the industrial hygienist you will be the subject matter expert on all safety and quality assurance issues. The implementation of Health Environmental management plans, health risk assessments and Industrial Hygiene programs will be the primary areas of responsibility. You will be accountable for developing the safety culture on project through behavioural based science, training and the development of awareness programs relating to Industrial Hygiene issues.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, communication and control of environmental stressors in, or arising from, the workplace that may result in injury, illness, impairment, or affect the well being of workers. The position requires someone who is available to start in January and demonstrate an aptitude for the following:

• Monitoring schedules for air emissions and industrial noise.
• Monitor and manage the overall safety and health of workers on site 
• Provide advise on Safe Work practices in hazardous stressful environments.
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene surveys and develop and implement risk-based monitoring programs that will monitor worker exposure to hazardous substances and environmental conditions.
• Develop strategies in “ As Low As Reasonably Practicable" (ALARP).
• Undertake inspections of site operations against requirements of the Industrial Hygiene program areas and relevant safe work practices and identify corrective actions to maintain risk to ALARP. 
• Manage Industrial Hygiene data and prepare reports. 
• Develop strategies on noise and hearing conservation, respiratory protection, exposure control programs, and hazardous substances. 

To be considered for the positions you must posse:

• Tertiary and / or post graduate qualifications in relevant hygienic disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years experience in assessing human health risks associated with chemical, physical and biological agents and in the development and implementation of strategies to control exposure to acceptable levels.
• Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation Hygiene programs within the construction or process industries.
• Demonstrated ability in the monitoring and assessment of workplace and environmental exposures.
• Experience in remote hazardous environment
