Inflation Product Controller
Position Description:
AGS on behalf of RBS represents contract and temporary opportunities for RBS MIB (Markets and International Banking). We have an outstanding contract opportunity for a Product Controller to make their mark with one of the world's largest international banking and financial services companies. In the role of a Inflation Product ontroller, you will play an integral role in helping our client deliver market leading services that set it apart from its competitors.
Some of the key responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely production of the daily p l process
- Month-end financial reporting process - Ensure full balance sheet substantiation and seek verification relating to areas outside immediate control e.g. nostro balances.
- All pricing and valuation issues, including off-market rate analysis in respect of all positions held - Ensure that independent pricing of all positions is performed on a daily basis or as identified by the "IPV Compliance Statement" ensuring that non-compliance is escalated accordingly.
- Liaise closely with the Global Independent Pricing Unit on valuation issues
- Balance sheet substantiation and control - Ensure that all balances within agreed cost centres are subject to strict reconciliation, substantiation and control.
- Project work covering controls enhancement, efficiency initiatives and strategic developments in order to provide business advantage
- Regular and ad-hoc analysis of aspects of the business both tactical and strategic
- Assist, as appropriate, in order to ensure that all proposed new products or variations of existing products can be appropriately booked, accounted for and independently valued and measured through the New Product Approval Process
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly p l and balance sheet commentaries are produced to the highest standards and accurately
- Liaise as appropriate with the Business in order to perform ad-hoc value added analysis
Essential requirements:
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivilent
- More than 2 years product control experience
- Demonstrate strong people, process and system skills·
- Understanding of basic principles of derivatives pricing
- Strong Excel skills
- Good appreciation of the Investment Banking business
- Good understanding of Finance operations and processes
- Sound product knowledge across FX, Bond, Interest Rate, Futures and Option products
- ACI Diploma- (Desirable).
