Informatica ETL Developer/Analyst Job in New Brunswick 08901, New Jersey US
Position Summary
The Informatica ETL developer/analyst is responsible for the build-out and support of data warehouse and business intelligence applications using Informatica, Oracle, and BI tools such as Business Objects. Responsibilities for this position include analyzing business requirements, both documented and undocumented, data analysis and designing, developing and unit testing integration solutions to meet data needs for sales, operations, finance, quality and other functions. The incumbent will perform data analysis and write source to target mapping specifications which clearly specify the purpose and transformation logic of each mapping, following applicable standards and conventions. The Informatica ETL developer will use available tools in the Informatica framework to develop ETL mappings. The developer will need to troubleshoot any issues or bugs discovered during the course of a project and provide ongoing application support.

Key Responsibilities
The Informatica ETL developer/analyst will be responsible the following:
- Work with end users, business analysts, technical staff and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance application processes and overall data and process flow and user interface applications.
- Perform data analysis using SQL against Oracle, SQL Server and other RDBMS environments.
- Perform data architecture, data modeling, database design, ETL Architecture and Design, Metadata, Data Quality and Governance, Informatica Administration related activities.
- Create and maintain source to target mapping specifications, detailing integration and transformation logic, using applicable standards.
- Create ETL mappings using Informatica tools to extracts, transform, and load data as per specifications.
- Create PL/SQL procedures, packages, and functions, as well as windows or UNIX batch scripts where necessary to augment Informatica mappings in the environment.
- Perform peer document reviews and code reviews to ensure adherence to user requirements as well as applicable standards and conventions.
- Perform required testing of developed procedures and mappings.
- Perform project and ongoing support bug fixes by diagnosing, isolating, planning for and implementing the change.
- Perform change impact analysis and estimation on code changes.
- Review current components; recommend optimizations and reconfigurations as warranted.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to assist in meeting business requirements.
· Bachelor’s degree preferably in the area of computer science or management information systems preferred
· Good understanding of Ralph Kimball’s approach to data warehousing. Experience working with OLTP systems also encouraged
· Strong Data Modeling and SQL skills with a proven ability to perform thorough data analysis
· Experience with writing ETL design specifications including source-to-target specifications and architecture specifications
· 6-8 years of recent experience in Informatica ETL development using various Informatica toolset (Power Center, Power Exchange, Data Quality, etc.) (version 8.x and higher) in a Data Warehouse environment
· Experience with Informatica Administration
· Experience with Informatica Upgrade a plus
· Experience writing database procedures, preferably Oracle PL/SQL
· Strong UNIX and Windows scripting skills
· Multiple years of hands on experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server
· Experience with XML integration preferable
· Experience with Business Objects tools a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must be able to provide support outside of US work Hours and on weekends as and when required to support maintenance activities
· Must be able to see a project through from beginning to end; deliver complete and accurate documentation to support the project and communicate project milestones and scope changes as they arise
· Must be a team player and willing to contribute to and foster a team player culture where all are encouraged and willing to share information accurately
· Pharmaceutical or Life Science experience a plus
