My client a leading Oil Gas client are looking for an Information Manager to join their team.

This role provides data governance, design authority, and general guidance for data and model management. Additionally this role will be responsible for the development of the information architecture for specific programmes such and Finance Architecture. There will be a close working relationship with embedded data architects across the business, to ensure best practices are followed and there is integration with the domain data models.

From an architecture perspective, the role provides owns the key data assets within each domain, including the domain data logical data models, the model management process, and the CSL (Common Standard Language) architecture. This is expected to be 50-65% of the role. The remaining part of the role will ensure project level data architecture has strategic fit and is fit-for-purpose for the project, and to manage and enforce data standards and best practices.
Key Accountabilities:
oInformation Architecture advisory to all programmes.
oResponsible for the ongoing management of logical data models, including definition of modelling standards practices, sign-off of model changes proposed by projects, periodic reviews of existing models, and linkage (where appropriate) with the broader client community.
oThought leadership on overall modelling efforts and linkages, especially the coincidence of data, process and state/event modelling, including master data management.
oConsult with project teams around training on modelling standards and practices; provide thought leadership and content expertise into projects; steer projects toward strategic goals.
oManage and maintain appropriate business data dictionaries or other metadata to ensure all elements of models are adequately explained and documented.
oEnsure project models are predicated off of central models and that project model content is incorporated back into central models.
oLiaise with industry vendors and partners to distil best practices and methodologies.
oWork with peers in other segments and at Group level to ensure that models are aligned and conform with Group standards.
oEstablish/manage a community of interest of architects who have an interest in data/information architecture
oManage the model relationships between the client data warehouse and the Transaction Pipe applications
oSupport the data quality agenda.
oCoordinate the development of CSL Information Objects and Message Types and oversees the development and re-use CSL to enable inter-application exchange of data. Maintain standards and practices in this area.

Essential Criteria:
oWorked as an Information Architect in a commodity trading environment covering energy commodities
oAn in-depth experience with a variety of data management technologies and methods.
oStrong understanding of XML, XSD message based environments.
oStrong business Data Modelling including use of standard tools methodologies such as ARIS, UML, Rational Rose, E/R Studio, or similar for entity-relationship modelling, entity life history descriptions, process modelling, etc.
oWorked on a large global data consolidation/standardisation projects and produced the architectural vision for the management of data
oExperience in communicating with technology experts and business management across multiple organisational areas

·Good understanding of relevant business domains, based on at least 2 years experience (e.g. Risk, Compliance, FCA, Prices and Curves).
·Demonstrated experience in both transactional and analytical systems and related models.
·Comfortable working with geographically diverse teams.
·Experience with physical modelling and performance optimization techniques.
·Planned and managed small projects up to a maximum of 5 people, circa $1m budget.
