General Dynamics Information Technology designs, builds and integrates the first Marine Corps Enterprise IT Services (MCEITS) Datacenter, which will support the data processing requirements for the entire U.S. Marine Corps. The MCEITS center provides application hosting capabilities, enterprise shared services, access to enterprise-wide information, collaboration and information sharing across business and warfighter domains.
The MCEITS program provides the Marine Corps with a modernized IT-enabled capability for use in enterprise and expeditionary environments. This will include implementation of an IT infrastructure with application, service and data environments. Additionally, MCEITS will deliver an IT infrastructure that can quickly, easily and securely adapt to evolving software, hardware, data, services and management requirements while providing an enhanced enterprise visibility that facilitates greater reuse of IT assets.
The Information Security Technician will join the MCEITS team and be responsible to perform all procedures necessary to ensure the security of information systems. In addition this person will protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction prior to the application being approved for transition and release into the Production Datacenter hosting environment, in support of the US Marine Corps Datacenter in Kansas City, MO.
This role must be proficient in various aspects of DoD Information Assurance requirements, instructions, and guidelines including applications, web services, databases, networks, and servers. In addition, this role must be well versed in DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Identity Management requirements. The Information Security Technician must help resolve or mitigate IA findings identified, and generate periodic reports as required. This position must work under limited supervision. The Information Security Technician must assist the Test Management and Operation group in the evaluation of security testing such as Retina scans, Security Readiness Review (SRR) scans, or Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) findings. The Information Security Technical will provide Tier III support as directed.
Strong knowledge and understanding of federal government or DoD IT policies, theories, principles, practices, procedures, and workforce structure to develop, implement, maintain, and manage a secure.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
5-8 years of related experience in security administration and information assurance.
