Position Qualification:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Information Assurance Position.
- Certified at the IA (Information Assurance) Management Level I or above (DoD 8570.01-M) ( GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, CISA, CISSP, CAP, GSE, SCNA)
- Be familiar with certification and accreditation directives, instructions and regulations such as Director of Central Intelligence Directive 6/3 (DCID 6/3), the Joint DoDIIS/Cryptologic SCI Information Systems Security Standards (JDCSISSS), and DoD Instruction 8510.01, DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).
Description of duties:
- Maintain, coordinate and receive applicable directives, regulations, manuals and guidelines to discharge the necessary security duties and responsibilities to support internal and external customers
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all SOPs/EAPs/SSPs/SSAAs (i.e. recommend changes) and other applicable security rules and regulations (i.e. NISPOM, DCIDs, JDCSISSS, DIACAP and M-1)
- Support the supported organizations in the following areas
- Implement and enforce IS policies
- Review weekly bulletins, advisories, IAVAs and CTOs that impact security of site information systems
- Ensure that periodic testing is conducted to evaluate the security posture of the ISs by employing various intrusion/attack detections and monitoring tools
- Assist in the proper decisions concerning the levels of concern for confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data, and the protection levels for confidentiality for the system
- Development of system accreditation/certification documentation and the review/coordination of such documentation and recommending action to the supported organizations
- Ensure approved procedures are in place for scanning, media tracking, clearing, purging, declassifying, and releasing memory, media and output
- Maintain a repository of all approved system accreditations/certifications documentation and modifications assigned to the organization
- Coordinate IS security audits, inspections, tests and reviews
- Ensure proper protective and corrective measures have been taken when an IS incident or vulnerability has been discovered and report within a 24 hour period to the Chief of Security/Chief of IT (as appropriate) and the ISSO/FWF IAM and SCI ISSM/IAM
- Ensure data ownership and responsibilities are established for each IS, to include accountability, access and special handling requirements
- Ensure development and implementation of an effective IS security education, training and awareness program
- Ensure development and implementation of procedures IAW configuration management (CM) policies and procedures for authorizing the use of hardware/software on an IS
- Any additions, changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware must be coordinated with the ISSM/IAM and appropriate approving authority prior to addition, change or modification
- Ensure SSP/SSAAs are updated as required.
- Assist government client with maintaining inventory of government furnished IT equipment and validate product requirements by ensuring dissemination to authorized user when required
- Monitor/audit account set-up and configuration for all accredited information systems maintained by supported units
- Prevent introduction of Personal Electronic Devices (PED)/prohibited items
Required Clearance
- Requires Secret Security Clearance but must the eligible to upgrade to a Top Secret security clearance with Special Compartment Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with caveats.
