Information Assurance Senior Associate Job in Alexandria 22314, Virginia US

This position is responsible for overseeing and performing tasks in conducting IT system control audits, reviews, evaluations, and consulting engagements for various government agency clients and for performing duties relevant to the engagement.  The senior associate will provide on-site supervision of project staff, provide technical guidance on work assignments, independently perform major segments of engagement, act as liaison between project staff and project manager, review and evaluate computer-based systems, test applications and general controls and be liaison to the auditee Point of Contact.

 

Responsibilities:

Assist supervisor, manager, or partner in planning work on assigned audits system reviews or other IT related engagement.

Determine records or activities to analyze, the extent of tests to apply, and the workpapers to prepare for staff.

Review documents, records, reports and methods for accuracy and effectiveness.

Review workpapers of staff auditors and assist in delegating work to staff as needed.

Conduct testing and interviews and prepare acceptable workpapers, write-ups, and memos.

Hold preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with supervisor, manager, or partner.

Report audit findings to supervisor, manager, or partner and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions.

Report job progress and status to supervisor, manager or partner.

Ensure work is well organized, with close attention to details.

Under the supervision of a manager or partner, provide on the job training and guidance to staff.

Provide timely and appropriate feedback to staff regarding performance after discussion with manager or partner.

Maintain excellent client relations for the firm.

Meet expectations for attendance, punctuality, and company/client deadlines and abide by all company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or other related technical field.  

CPA, CISA or candidate for CPA or CISA

Minimum of 18 months of directly related experience.

Knowledge and understanding of FISCAM, Yellow Book, FISMA, NIST, OMB guidance, GAAS, applicable programming languages, system applications and hardware components, and other relevant industry practices pertaining to the engagement.

Able to provide clear, concise instructions to staff in oral and written format.

Able to collect, read, analyze and interpret computer-based and system related data, technical procedures and government regulations.

Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.

Able to speak effectively before groups including clients, peers and management.

Able to multi-task across multiple projects.

Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
