Main Function

The US Compensation Systems team, as part of the Compensation and Benefits function, supports the Barclays Compensation Tool and processes, provides database application and reporting tools, reviews data available for trends/further analysis and partners with the HR teams to provide expert support for Barclays' businesses worldwide.

Main Duties

For annual compensation review and on ad-hoc projects, partner with HR teams to provide systems support: Provide system training to HR and business users. Provide assistance and support to users, including trouble-shooting and resolving issues. Escalate to 2nd line IT support where necessary. Undertake system admin as necessary. Produce MI / reports, both scheduled and ad-hoc, as necessary. Assist with gathering system enhancement requests, writing technical documentation, performing UAT. Fully document work. Train other members of the team to be able to support the solutions provided. Build and support database applications and reporting tools: Generate ideas to make reporting applications as useful as possible. Implement and support analytics required Provide meaningful analysis of HR data: Provide commentary/analysis where applicable. Pose questions requiring deeper review. Review current processes and systems for productivity improvement opportunities: Continually improve upon current systems and reporting state. Gather metrics to measure impact of processes and systems. Provide upward communication (frequency as appropriate) to ensure team management are aware of status of work, and are aware of any material issues.

Person Requirements

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Prior work experience within Financial Services.Prior work experience in a system management / system admin role. Knowledge of data management and working with databases.Experience working with Crystal Reporting. Preferred Qualifications:Proven ability to thoroughly and efficiently conduct detailed fact-checking, data integrity verification and cross-referencing of complex information under tight deadlines.
Technically minded - comfortable and interested in learning new skills and technologies. Crystal Reports, Business Objects Enterprise Suite (including Web Intelligence, Xcelsius dash-boarding, etc), SQL Query writing, VBA knowledge (Excel Macros, MS Access Forms, pass-through queries, etc). Knowledge of Actuate's Business Intelligence Reporting Tool (BIRT) a plus.
Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. Ability to collaborate and actively contribute in a strong team environment, yet able to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
