Information Data Architect recruitment
Platts is currently seeking an Information Data Architect to join
their team.
The Information Data Architect will be responsible for leading and
oversight in the development of information architecture, and
logical data design, developing, implementing and supporting
logical data models. This position will act as the primary advocate
of information architecture and data modelling methodologies and
data processing best practices with in-depth understanding of
enterprise data standards, data quality and how data is used as a
strategic asset.
This position also provides technical design leadership to
projects, with respect to data architecture design.
The person will work closely with both the business stakeholders,
product owners and cross-functional IT teams and requires excellent
information architecture, data design, building/supporting logical
data models, communication, influencing and negotiating skills and
the ability to apply these skills appropriately across all
levels.
Primary
Responsibilities:
- Work with business and technology solutions teams in the
development and maintenance of the organization's end to end
information architecture by creating information architecture
strategies and developing the associated roadmaps and high level
plans. Establish a Master Reference Data Strategy and
implementation roadmap. - Design, develop, and coordinate Enterprise Metadata and
taxonomy Strategy, including repository implementation, planning,
and maintenance. Develop the standards, processes and procedures to
align with the information architecture for the organization.
Formulate the standards, processes and procedures to align with the
information architecture for major application projects. - Review the information and technology architecture design of
key application projects to ensure alignment with the enterprise
standards and target architecture/roadmap. Support various project
teams in data analysis, logical and physical data models and prove
guidance and mentoring to technical team. Provide Leadership to
create the strategy and direction for data warehousing, business
intelligence and analytics for the enterprise. - Monitor regulatory guidelines, compliance guidelines and
emerging industry standards to determine their impact on
information architecture. - Oversee the creation and evolution of architecture
deliverables, including services, frameworks, templates,
taxonomies, tools, standards, guidelines and best practices that
support the delivery of IT solutions.
Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience or
certification - 6+ years of hands-on database administration or information
architecture experience - in both maintenance/operational and
project support roles - 3+ data environments
- Expert in supporting data analysis and development tasks in the
software engineering process - Expert in providing data consulting and communicating
technology direction - Expert in supporting data design activities, particularly
bridging application interfaces to data - Expert in 2+ business areas/practices
- Expert in conducting data design reviews
- Expert in evaluating data technologies
- Expert in leading task forces for data design and development
activities - Expert in facilitating and developing logical data design (from
business requirements), supporting DBA's physical design work,
facilitating the development of data libraries (meta-data
definitions), performing quality assurance on data aspects of
systems and reports - Experience in leading logical data architecture design for
projects and for enterprise services - Experience in developing business cases for data architecture
options - Experience at evaluating next horizon logical data design, data
visualization, reporting, and data management technologies - Experience in leading logical data architecture/technology task
forces/teams - Experience at setting data architecture direction
- Experience in translating and executing on a data, reporting,
and/or database technology direction - Experience in creating, inspiring and driving a data, database,
reporting, and/or overall business systems direction - Experience in overall information design and
architecture
Preferred:
- Demonstrated skill in leading technical teams from a data
engineering perspective. - Demonstrates a creative, critical-thinking approach to problem
solving - Demonstrates a thorough understanding of data, database and
reporting systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures
of success - Demonstrates ability to analyze technical trade-offs between
different information design options - Demonstrates ability to synthesize design inputs and identify
potential risks/challenges across a portfolio of data delivery
systems and projects
