Information Security Engineer

Swim is currently recruiting for an Information Security Engineer. The ideal candidate must have experience managing the security for large scale application platforms and network architectures.

 

This role is based in Vancouver and has management reporting to a Manager of Technology Operations based in the United States. This role is hands on and will be responsible for delivering on security projects for Canadian Operations. You will assist with implementing security standards for mission critical financial applications and the Canada wide network.

 

We are searching for someone who is self directed and motivated who will operate with a great deal of autonomy within the larger Information Technology Group. We want someone who is a "doer".  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

Education:                              

 

Minimum of an undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology or commensurate qualifications and / or experience. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar certifications would be preferred, but not required.

 

 

Experience:                             

 

3-5 years in Information Technology with expertise in information security as it relates to software, hardware, database, networking and computer operations.

 

 

Must have:

·         Excellent customer service skills;

·         Excellent planning abilities;

·         Strong organizational skills;

·         Strong work ethic and ability to self start;

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including conveying technical subject matter clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences

 

Technical Requirements:

·         Intermediate experience with TCP/IP and the ability to troubleshoot to the packet level;

·         Experience with anti-malware technologies, preferably Sophos;

·         Experience with firewall/VPN technologies, preferably Juniper, NetScreen, or Palo Alto;

·         Experience with intrusion detection technologies, preferably SourceFire, or SNORT;

·         Experience with proxy technologies, preferably Sophos;

·         Experience and strong understanding of Microsoft products such as; Active Directory, Exchange, SMS, SCOM, etc;

·         Experience with vulnerability scanners, preferably Qualys

·         Experience with log aggregation technologies (SIEM), preferably RSA

·         Experience with data loss prevention (DLP) technologies, preferably RSA or Orchestria

·         Experience with Cisco IOS

·         Sound understanding of security concepts behind the authentication, authorization and auditing (AAA) framework;

·         Intermediate experience with General Network Infrastructure (cabling, fiber, firewalls, switches and routers);

·         Intermediate experience with Linux.

·         Vendor certifications such as, Cisco, Juniper, CheckPoint, etc.;
