Information Security Engineer needed to support the design, testing and implementation of state-of-the-art, secure operating systems, networks, and database products for the US Navy. Responsibilities include:
- Conducts risk assessment and provide recommendations for application design.
- Work with a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
- Deeply involved in the design and development of new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues.
- May interface with external entities including law enforcement, and intelligence/government agencies.
The Information Security Engineer will demonstrate knowledge and experience appropriate to analyze general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems. Expert knowledge is required in the following areas:
- Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet network security requirements.
- Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
- Familiar with DoD DIACAP 8510.01 and Navy DIACAP Handbook.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 4-8 years experience
- Certification - Minimum: IAT Level II (Security +); IAM Level II (CAP ) CISSP certification is a plus (but not required)
- Drug Screening: Must successfully pass hair sample test
- Must meet training, certification and favorable background checks listed in the DOD 8570.01M as IAT/IAM-II per DoD 8570.01-M.
- Four to Eight years of technical experience with a wide range of hardware and software applications.
- Must possess excellent customer interface skills.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an interim and a permanent U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required. (Active Minimum Secret Clearance a plus)
- CCNA, MCP, or MCSE certification is a plus (but not required)
