Information Security Officer recruitment
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Security Officer to join GE Capital EMEA IT - UK based in our London Offices. The Information Security Officer is responsible for the overall IT Security program within GE Capital UK and would be expected to have significant experience in IT Security, including policy creation, review and enforcement; IT Security Management at a large financial organisation and have experience of driving IT Security process adoption through business teams.
The Information Security Officer will be accountable for:
• Serving as an internal information security consultant to the organisation; documenting security policies and procedures created by the wider GE.
• Providing direct training and oversight to GE Capital UK employees and third parties, ensuring proper information security clearance in adhered to in accordance with established GE Capital UK information security policies and procedures.
• Initiating, facilitating, and promoting activities to create information security awareness within the organisation, leveraging wider GE initiatives wherever possible.
• This position will also require performing information security risk assessments and serving as an internal auditor for security issues as and when required.

This position would suit someone with:
• A strong track record of managing IT Security in a regulated retail financial services environment with a deep understanding of IT Security policy and procedures and their enforcement.
• A detailed practical knowledge of BS ISO/IEC 17799 and BS ISO/IEC 27001 with proven certification experience would be desirable.
• You will also possess a working knowledge of UK regulatory requirements inclusive of BSI, and Data Protection.
• A Degree in Information Technology or equivalent is required for this position
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience of working in a matrix or shared services environment would be useful.
• Candidates with experience in an FSA regulated retail environment would be desirable especially with BSI ISO/IEC accreditation and audit experience or Optional PCI Data Security Standard and SAS-70 experience.
