Description of Role:

 

The Information Security Specialist will be responsible for working with our customers on helping them develop the scope of specific data protection programs and leverage a quality management system approach to help protect sensitive information and derive operational improvements.  The position will be trained on the concepts of ISO based quality management systems, specifically focusing on the ISO 27000 series of standards. Eventually, this position will work with our customers on developing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) built upon the foundations of the ISO 27000 series of standards. The position works to quantify data derived from interviews and process analysis of the customer environment and then provides comprehensive reports containing recommendations to our customers on how to both reduce potential risk and drive operational efficiency quickly and effectively. 

 

The position requires the ability to work with non-technical business owners to develop business requirements that allow the tuning of specific information security technology tools, specifically data loss prevention (DLP) and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) applications, as well as a heavy focus on emerging trends in mobility and cloud computing.  The position works with customers on assessing key business processes and data elements to determine the best possible way to protect information and help meet regulatory and statutory privacy regulations including PCI-DSS, GLBA, HIPAA, HI-TECH and the numerous other types of privacy regulations encompassing business operations. The position is challenged with bringing innovative ideas and solutions to our customers that can derive measurable results and ultimately reduce risk and attempt to deliver opportunities for operational excellence.

 

We anticipate the Senior Business Consultant position will spend 40% to 50% of their time traveling to customer sites interfacing with our customers, assessing customer business processes and making recommendations for process improvement. The remaining 50% - 60% of their time will be generating reports and associated documentation, as well as working with the BEW Global Field Services, Intelisecure Managed Services and our emerging Intelisecure Cloud Solution team members to apply the business requirements to the enhancement of technology controls. The appropriate training will be provided on ISO quality management system methods, our proprietary consultancy methodology, as well as related technology tools that require the necessary business requirements mapped into technology capabilities.

Background in business consulting in the areas of info security, data protection and privacy.

Experience navigating through large enterprises, both national and global, to obtain information.

Highly analytical skills with the ability to uncover trends and behavior through data analysis. 

Ability to assess business processes in various environments and identify areas for improvement.

Experience with developing business requirements that allow successful optimization of technology.

Presents and educate clients on findings and make recommendations for improvements.

Collaborate with the team members on strategy in regards to improving assessment methods.

Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of products, technologies, competitors and industry trends.

Good understanding of current information security technology trends and tools.

Solid writing skills combined with exceptional use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

We prefer a 4-year degree in Business Administration with Information Systems minor.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $60,000-$80,000 annual depending on level of experience.

90-Day Review: Eligible for raise, amount to be determined by performance.
