The Administrator is accountable for the support of customer application environments running on Microsoft Servers with MS SQL Server, Informix or Oracle Databases. The Administrator maintains systems running common application environments on behalf of our customers in a hosted environment. The Administrator will function in both implementations and support stages and will provide services in a variety of areas. IIS and Citrix Administration emphasized. SunGard Application Hosting utilizes VMWare running on HP hardware utilizing SANs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, monitor and maintain Windows, VMWare and UNIX servers and applications.
• Support installation and administration and of MS SQL, Informix, and Oracle databases.
• Participate in SAN and network administration as needed.
• Collect and analyze system and application performance data, tune system accordingly.
• Proactive system monitoring and maintenance.
• Diagnose and manage problems, perform root cause analysis.
• Provide support to customer technical staff and customer end-users.
• Assist frontline support with client phone and ticketing systems.
• Perform related work as required.
Position Requirements:
Desired Experience:
• 4+ years System Administration experience desired.
• Strong scripting skills in at least one of the following: Perl, Python, Powershell, VBS, Korn, Posix.
• Basic Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008 understanding
• Microsoft IIS and .NET application servers
• Windows Server 2008 and 2003
• Active Directory and Group Policies
• Application management of .NET applications in load balanced, high volume environments
• Administration and management of hosted Windows computing environments
Position Requirements:
• Associates Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years System Administration experience and/or 2+ years of computer systems hardware installation and configuration experience.
• Minimum 2+ years working with and troubleshooting high volume web applications.
• Customer support experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with clients.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
