Loudoun County, VA, Department of Information Technology is seeking to fill the position of Information Systems Security Analyst to be responsible for assisting in the day to day administration and monitoring of enterprise security systems. The position will be responsible for monitoring firewalls, intrusion detection/protection/prevention systems, Internet URL filtering gateways, email filtering gateways and internal and external Virtual Private Network (VPN) systems. This position reports directly to the Information Systems Security Manager and collaborates with IT staff and County departments to ensure that current and proposed application systems and processes comply with IT Security Policies and best practices, government legislation and regulatory requirements. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of IT Security best practices, security monitoring tools and methods including security incident response and management. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication (oral, written and presentation); interpersonal and consultative skills required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, county officials and peers. This position requires some weekend and evening assignments. Experience with McAfee Enterprise and EndPoint security systems, Microsoft SCCM/WSUS, Sonicwall VPN, URL filtering and Quest products in a multi-platform environment including IBM RACF, IBM DB2 database, Unix/Linux, MS SQL, MS Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, MS Windows 2003/2008 XP and Windows 7 highly desirable. Requires BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field with four years’ experience in computing environments. Two of the four years’ experience must be specifically in the management and monitoring of information security systems. Prefer the following certifications: CISSP, GIAC, MCSE/MCITP. Position provides on-call support to DIT security and disaster recovery situations. Requires carrying a pager/cell phone and ability to lift and/or carry up to 65 pounds.
