Information Technology (IT) Analyst II

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting the hardware, software and circuits associated with an enterprise Local Area, Metropolitan Area and Wide Area Network systems. He or she will work closely with the Network Engineering Team Lead to set priorities and execute project and support tasks. These tasks include determining client requirements, specifying and implementing solutions, configuring network hardware and software and monitoring the network for proper operation.

 

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.

- Five-plus years experience supporting Cisco based networking equipment,

protocols and disciplines including several to all of the following: Switches,

Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP,

Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS.

- Ability to analyze TCPIP traffic with tools such as wire shark and other packet sniffing software

- Ability to design Subnets, VLANs, and proper routing structures

- Use of best practices for designing networks such as setting-up border routers and firewalls for proper security server and desktop virtualization in regards to network design and impact of iSCSI technologies and Storage Area Networks

- Understanding of telecommunications including Telecomm circuits (T1, PRI, MPLS, etc.)

- Excellent communication, customer service and teaming skills.

 

Desirable Qualifications

- Operating Systems background experience including Windows, UNIX, and Linux

- Knowledge of and experience with Storage Area Networks

- Network skills based certifications including one or more of the following:

MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE.

- Project Management skills, experience and training
