Infrastructure Architect - Technical, Integration

Infrastructure Architect required for my Investment Banking client based in London to work closely with development teams, analyse existing server environments, and understand the requirements that new applications may place on server and storage infrastructure based solely on transaction volumes and types.

Candidates will be required to have significant knowledge of, and experience with server, storage, and network infrastructure, and have a comprehensive understanding of database and presentation layer technologies. The individual should also be well versed in designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions and have a strong understanding of the processes necessary to support the solution.

The individual should be a recognized expert in Unix/Linux/Solaris with excellent knowledge in Windows, Intel-based hardware (HP Proliant preferred) and associated software technologies

Candidates will require:

- Thorough knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Strong Knowledge of Windows clustering, Microsoft SQL, and other associated enterprise technologies.
- Knowledge of Oracle, Sybase and MSQL database technologies.
- Knowledge of Middleware (e.g. WebLogic, MQ) useful.
- Symantec VERITAS Storage foundation (VxVM, VxFS, VERITAS Clustering)
- Understanding of SAN technologies and storage replication.
- Experience with hardware server technologies, particularly HP Proliant.
- Thorough knowledge of virtualisation technologies particularly VMWare ESX server and VDI.
