Responsibilities

Acts independently, or leads a group of technical contributors, while maintaining top level responsibility for detailed solution analysis and design during business capture, proposal development and/or delivery
-Formulates approach to solution scope and objectives relative to a clients requirements
-Articulates the clients problems and primary business drivers and develops conceptual, logical, and physical solutions which address those needs
-Leads technical solution and response development on proposals; serves as the technical volume lead
-Creates reusable assets and frameworks that enable the adoption and usage of solution blueprints
-Effectively integrates core capabilities with new technology to successfully implement solution development projects and standards definitions
-Participates in client meetings and presentations to set expectations and to discuss client responsibilities, requirements, initiatives, and concepts
-Participates in efforts to set technical direction and build capabilities in the engineering organization
-Acts independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance concerning the business implications of the various solutions
-Validates existing solution architectures and makes recommendations for improvements
-Leads the development of prototypes that may be required during capture process and/or the early delivery stages, or in support of RD efforts
-Investigates new initiatives and opportunities for appropriateness with respect to strategic goals for both New and Add-on Business
-Supports New Business Development and Software Project Managers in the role of Solution Architect during the proposal stage of business capture (i.e. writing proposal sections)
-Supports the Program Manager and the Software Project Manager in the role of Solution Architect during the transition, build, and operate phases of solution/program implementation
-Maintains an in-depth knowledge of a specific current technology, both internally and within the industry, and its applicability to the organization
-Ensures industry and Vangents best practices and assets are leveraged and improved when necessary.

Qualifications

-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent degree or experience is required.
- 10+ years of current experience in providing business consulting and/or technology consulting services and solutions to clients preferred.
-Has successfully lead technical proposal responses with a proven record of winning new business in the federal government market
- Certifications in multiple discipline areas of the enterprise infrastructure and computing environment such as: Cisco Certifications, Linux Certifications, Microsoft Server Certification, Storage Area Network Certifications, Network Management Certifications, Security Certifications
-Must possess a working knowledge of virtualization technologies, strategies, and best practices for implementation and operation with 3 or more years of experience
-Must possess a working knowledge of enterprise Storage solutions, strategies, and best practices for implementation and operations with 3 or more years of experience
-Must possess a working knowledge of network technologies, strategies, and best practices for implementation and operation with 3 or more years of experience
-Must possess a working knowledge of Federal Government security requirements (FISMA) and the necessary strategies, and best practices for implementation and operation of compliant / hardened solutions across the enterprise with 3 or more years of experience
-Three (3) or more years of experience in providing consulting services to US Federal Government clients preferred
-Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current technologies both internally and within the industry, and its applicability to the organization
-Maintain a broad knowledge of current industry technologies, methodologies and designs, and their applicability and appropriateness in various solution architectures
-Considers solution impact and long-term effects of decisions/solutions
-Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity and professionalism
-Demonstrates ability to provide coaching, counseling, and mentoring to staff
-Demonstrates ability to develop winning technical solutions
