Infrastructure Engineer at Financial Services Company (12-month contract) recruitment
The Company
Our client is a well known multinational financial services company that is looking to bring on board a 12-month contract infrastructure engineer to join a growing team in order to maintain and monitor the bank's entire infrastructure. Successful candidate will assist in design, implement and overall operations, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and information security
The Role
- Conduct research, evaluation and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts
- Assist in negotiation with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services
- Pro-actively monitor and review infrastructure performance and provide performance statistics and reports
- Assist in keep tracking IT assets with proper inventory control on record keeping, maintenance and related documentation
- Provide day-to-day support on infrastructure areas; support work involving hardware, software and end-user support
- Participate in infrastructure projects and implementation work
- Partners with all areas within IT Division for data related needs and support
- Responsible for support and maintenance including security control, equipment monitoring recovery, equipment upgrade, integration, UAT and emergency maintenance
Your Profile
- BSc in Computer Science or related engineering degree with equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design, implement and operations
- Extensive exposure of infrastructure service and application delivery, as well as support of data and voice network VoIP, Real Time Data, LAN, Wan, VPN, Dealer Board, PABX and Direct Access
- Should have exposure in implementing trading and data network connections with providers such as BT, Bloomberg, Sungard, ITG, Thomson Reuters, NYFIX, etc.
- Should have exposure in implementing network security and related products with IDS, IPS, Firewall and SSL Tunnel
- Should have good understanding of trading and market data facilities such as Reuters RMDS, Bloomberg, AAStocks, ET-Net, CCASS, DCASS, AMS/3 OG, NG, FIX, etc.
- Should have knowledge and experience in using network products and protocols such as Cisco Router and Switch with EIGRP, Juniper SSG Firewall, Checkpoint, Load Balancer F5, TCP/IP, SSLVPN.
- Should have knowledge and experience in using Windows desktop and server OS, Lotus Domino Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Proxy, MS SQL, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, McAfee antivirus, McAfee DLP, web security product.
- Strong knowledge of Internetworking and Network Security theory as well as practical applications.
- Experience working with VMware, EMC or storage solution is an advantage
- Ability to manage disparate demands from multiple customers
- Ability to work with geographically diverse work force
- Meticulous and methodical in creating solutions with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Team player, independent, self-starter, motivated, multitasking and able to take initiative to get projects completed. Working knowledge of project coordination.
