INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER Job in Dedham 02026, Massachusetts US
The Town of Dedham (population 24,729) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Infrastructure Engineer. This position, which reports to the Director of Engineering, is responsible for technical work in the field and office which includes supervision of professional consultants, contractors; design, estimating, bid preparation, traffic analysis and modeling, construction inspection, drafting and engineering computation for municipal projects, report preparation and technical writing, and the management and updating of computerized engineering software systems (GIS, CAD, etc.), and all other work as required. This position requires that the candidate have a Bachelors Degree in civil engineering and five years of design and construction experience in public works or related projects, preferably with municipal experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should also have knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, geographic information systems and other computer-aided engineering software, land surveying techniques and related engineering record requirements and computation practices, as well as knowledge of FHWA, AASHTO and MassDOT regulations pertaining to roadway design, traffic impact studies and traffic calming. Registration as a Professional Engineering in Massachusetts and three to five years of operations experience in GIS computer application and other computer aided engineering techniques is required.
