Position Description:
In today's volatile marketplace, efficient management of cash flow is a key driver for success. At SunGard we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the AvantGard hosting services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong overall infrastructure experience, with extensive VMWare and virtualisation skills. The core purpose of this role is to build and support the infrastructure supporting our Hosting and Managed Services business, which provides clients with outsourced IT, hardware and application management by leveraging SunGard's leadership in managed services and disaster recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide IT infrastructure monitoring and support for internal and external clients; setting up IT environments, platforms, technologies and solutions to support the business.
- Responsible for the technical delivery of client solutions; this will include installing, configuring and supporting the solution, from the design phase through to live operational handover.
- Work with the Infrastructure and Project Manager to plan out complex IT infrastructure deployments.
- Planning out configuration ready for installation
- Testing configured solutions.
- Ensuring that the assets are correctly recorded, tracked and managed.

Position Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience performing systems engineering and administration with large scale systems
- Extensive VMWare and virtualisation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Web Technologies.
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of SSL, Internet (SMTP, DHCP, DNS) and other networking protocols.
Experience with administration of Windows Server 2003 or greater.
- Experience with deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting multi-tier applications.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills, paying strong attention to detail.
- Professional and responsible attitude with the ability to work without supervision.

Desired:
- Experience with systems management and monitoring products.
- Experience with Windows server 2000/2003, clusters, and replication.
