Position Description:
Morgan Stanley is looking for an Associate to assist the Fund Controllers of the Private Equity Finance Division to provide accounting, financial reporting and tax support for a multi-billion dollar fund. The open position is for the Firm's Infrastructure Fund and related feeder funds (the "Partnerships").

Responsibilities for the Private Equity Associate include the following activities:

• Preparation of GAAP basis accounting closings for the Partnerships including maintenance of books and records

• Preparation of quarterly GAAP basis financial statements for the Partnerships including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, schedules of investments and footnotes.

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger for quarterly close process i.e. Oracle

• Assist with data entry in investor database i.e. PEO

• Prepare SOX audit work as needed to ensure corporate compliance

• Prepare regulatory data for quarterly and annual reporting

• Preparation and administration of the Partnerships' activities including capital calls and distributions, investor allocations, management fees and investment purchases and sales.

• Preparation of quarterly reports for partners, including detail roll forward analysis of Partner Capital Accounts (PCAAs) as well as other ad hoc investor requests.

• Prepare bank wire requests; preparation of weekly and monthly cash reconciliations

• Communicate with the Firm's finance, administration, tax and operations areas (such as Investor Relations and Treasury) and prepare various accounting reports requested by these groups on an on-going basis.

• Prepare and/or review monthly and ad hoc requests

• Computer systems to be used: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), PEO, Aexeo and Oracle.

Skills Required:
Requirements

1)Bachelors Degree (Accounting/Finance preferred)
2)Public accounting experience preferred
3)Up to 4 years of accounting experience including financial statement preparation experience and prior experience in Private Equity and/or Hedge Fund area is required.
4)Knowledge of Private Equity tax requirements is a plus.
