Infrastructure Planner Job in Calgary, Alberta Canada

Primary Focus

Enbridge Pipelines Inc. is currently searching for three highly motivated individuals to join the Infrastructure Planning Optimization team as an Infrastructure Planner. This newly developed group is responsible for planning optimizing Enbridge's liquid pipeline assets over a 10 year horizon with a key focus to maximize revenues, increase customer value and improve safety while aligning with Enbridge's commercial strategy. We accomplish this through our core focus of pipeline capacity, storage requirements, power costs and system operability.

Responsibilities

Co-ordinate multi-discipline initiatives to analyze and justify the business case for new facilities.

Create the 10 year plan for capacity expansions and facility requirements to meet our customers* energy needs.

Develop terminal build-out plans to ensure long term operations which maximize throughput while minimizing cost and ensuring the correct connectivity and required storage capacity over a 5 year horizon.

Estimate and find ways to reduce power costs (Enbridge's primary operating cost).

Analyze "what if" scenarios in support of Enbridge's Business Development and Financial Analysis groups to determine system impacts related to capacity, storage and power costs.

Participate in various interdepartmental committees related to pipeline design, projects and operations.

Qualifications

Enbridge Pipelines Inc. is looking to fill 3 positions with varied experience and background. The successful candidate will have qualifications in the following areas:

University degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics or related discipline.

Expertise in optimization techniques and probabilistic analysis an asset.

Liquid pipeline operations and hydraulics background an asset.

4-10 years experience in an analytical role, in positions with progressive responsibility.

Ability to effectively work with others and communicate with internal departments and customers.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Electronic Mail Systems.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
