Job Description

Direct Contract - 1 Year

The Financial Markets business of Standard Chartered Bank continues to challenge the capabilities the Technology organization. In response to these demands, the Technical Service division is looking to bolster its Financial Markets Infrastructure Project Manager (FM IPM) team.
An FM IPM is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure solutions in response to requests from
(a) financial markets software development,
(b) corporate real estate services,
(c) financial markets front, middle and back office businesses, and
(d) the infrastructure organization itself.

The end-to-end delivery of infrastructure is achieved through the execution of high quality project management in accordance with the firm's infrastructure delivery lifecycle (iQMF)

In order to achieve success, applicants will need to leverage skills and experiences in the following fields.

* Project Management Methodology (PMP, Prince II) e.g. structure, governance, controls, scheduling, resource management, issue risk management, reporting, stakeholder management, assumption and dependency management and financial control
* Communication - both verbal and written
* Technology Infrastructure Design Operational Support
* Project Team Management Leadership
* Stakeholder Relationship Management

Key Roles Responsibilities

Developing an effective partnership with our partners in
(a) financial markets software development,
(b) corporate real estate services,
(c) financial markets front, middle and back office businesses, and
(d) the infrastructure organization itself.
* Develop a deep understanding of our clients requirements and how best to respond from an infrastructure perspective taking into consideration their past experiences, their immediate challenges, and their strategic roadmap.
An appreciation of how the wider financial markets industry plays into the hopes and aspiration of our own business would be hugely beneficial.
* Orchestrate the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure solutions in response to requests from
(a) financial markets software development,
(b) corporate real estate services,
(c) financial markets front, middle and back office businesses, and
(d) the infrastructure organization itself.
* Oversee the infrastructure design process, ensuring the solution meets the requirements and is in accordance with associated architecture operational standards and/or strategic infrastructure initiatives such as obsolescence.
* Planning collaborate with stakeholders to develop a project management plan to deliver the infrastructure solution as designed, on time and to budget and in accordance with the banks infrastructure delivery lifecycle process.
* Identify, mitigate and communicate key assumptions, issues, risks and dependencies to master projects relevant control and governance committees.
* Ensures internal process, standards and risk compliance (including security, regulatory and audit requirements) are met. Pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Provide line management, mentoring and coaching of staff

Qualifications Skills

Extensive Infrastructure Project Solution Delivery Management Experience
* Work experience in a complex, multi-national organization - an advocate of team multi culture and collaborative working a strategic thinker with a commercial and pragmatic approach
* Overseeing infrastructure solution design, planning and execution in a bank or other relevant financial services industry
* Exposure to a structured development lifecycle and related deliverables and work processes, including experience of working cohesively with application development teams/leaders.
* Informing and engaging all levels of senior management
* Exposure and understanding of infrastructure technologies; including open systems (UNIX/Windows), databases, storage area network, local/wide area networks, middleware, application servers, software development environments, high availability, systems management, and security infrastructure.
* Possess excellent communication, collaboration, presenting and influencing skills, particularly in liaison with internal external service providers and senior leadership - excellent ability to create a network influence decision making process
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills the ability to easily develop effective relationships with colleagues across the firm would be hugely beneficial.
* An ability to identify risks and issues, mitigate and communicate to the project team, program management and associated steering committee members.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and individually with minimal supervision
* Experience in leading technical, time critical projects
* Experience of managing project finances forecasting, actuals, accruals, estimating
