Infrastructure Solution Architect

Infrastructure Solutions Architect required for our Insurance client based in Bromley. Candidate will be required to deliver high quality technology platforms, whilst delivery costs savings and efficiency driving productivity and sustainability. This position requires candidates to have generalist knowledge across a range of Infrastructure, but will need to have a good knowledge of the following:

- Networking (Cisco, TCP/UDP, Broadcast/Multicast, LAN/WAN)
- Server Operating systems internals, benchmarking and performance tuning (Linux, Windows, Solaris) - CPU Microarchitectures (Intel, AMD, SPARC)
- Storage (EMC SAN – FC, FCoE, SRDF; NetApp NAS - CIFS, NFS)
- Databases (Oracle MS SQL; VCS MSCS)

Additional experience in the following is beneficial:

- Databases (Oracle RAC, Sybase, Apache Hadoop Hbase)
- Middleware and Grid (IBM MQ Platform, Tibco RV Datasynapse)
- Market Data (RMDS, 29West, Wombat, Solarflare)
- In Memory Distributed Data Grid (Oracle Coherence)
- Web applications servers (Apache HTTP Server Tomcat, IIS, Websphere)
- End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
- Trading Technologies and ISVs
- Java/ Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script
- Passion for technology understanding how things work

Candidates will be responsible for:

- Investigating new infrastructure technologies which provide solutions to current problems / Proof of Concept Work
- Infrastructure Architecture Designs, approved by the relevant approval board
- Keeping up to date with business road maps, technology roadmaps and feeding wider business IT requirements into central infrastructure engineering and strategy teams
- Use of knowledge of the exiting client business, applications and infrastructure to pro-actively make recommendations where it can be seen that improvements can be made
- Determine business requirement and influence solution towards ITO future state model
- Ensuring end to end completeness of technical design, including NFRs realised and validated
- Verify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support model
- Qualify R2 acceptance of all components
