Responsibilities This position will work with others to develop a deep knowledge base within a targeted strategic opportunity area, support an ideation session, filter ideas and develop short form business cases. Depending on pace, the responsibilities may extend to coordinating designers to build an initial visualization model and/or prototype of a top opportunity from the idea sets. Assists in strategic opportunity scan, fact base development and disruptive opportunity assessment; approach will likely include value chain power analysis, profit pool, total cost of ownership and key trend analysis Plan an (internal) ideation session with key stakeholders and subject matter experts Assemble / conduct abbreviated market research, as needed, to clarify opportunity sets Build a portfolio of ideas/opportunities based on ADS risk adjusted NPV and strategic fit Rapidly filter ideas and build 3-5 short form business cases for review (pitch) with Innovation VP Pitch 1-3 business cases to SVP Marketing and key stakeholders Time and opportunity permitting, initiate prototype development Ensure a clean handoff at completion of internship, and maintain very well organized electronic and paper files Complete ad hoc requests as needed Qualifications Knowledge of marketing research, trending analysis, quantitative and qualitative measurements, and application to business solutions. Knowledge of directed and sustainable innovation models and application to drive business growth. Ability to accurately interpret market trends and consumer insights into actionable business ideas that drive growth. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong ability to communicate in both written and verbal form. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Ability to interact with all levels of management and various individuals across the company. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Undergraduate degree; actively pursuing MBA (Innovation program preferred) Experience: Structural industry analysis Desirable: Knowledge of Retail Credit Card Industry, including client and consumer driven needs; entrepreneurial and product development experience Compensation and Benefits Alliance Data offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive selection of benefit options including 401(k).
