Capital One-s Digital Innovation Lab is selectively recruiting for an Innovation Lab Director (-ILD-) who will help us accelerate and shape the creation and launch of our digital offerings. This role offers a rare opportunity to work at the vanguard of mobile and social media capabilities, digital consumer experiences across devices and platforms, and a wide range of emerging digital payment types.

As ILD you will:

1. Guide overall lab design including design of the physical environment, and the development and deployment of explicit methodologies and tools.

2. Organize, manage, and facilitate team brainstorming and ideation sessions at the Lab.

3. Conceive, develop, and execute a framework and set of organizational processes for efficiently sourcing, assessing, prioritizing, and piloting ideas and product concepts.

4. Transfer specific methods and skills into existing Capital One teams that enable them to accelerate ongoing breakthroughs outside of the Lab environment.

As an integral part of the core Digital Innovation Lab team, the Innovation Lab Director will interface directly with officers throughout Capital One-s business units, with the explicit objective of helping the Digital Lab accelerate the firm-s enterprise-wide digital agenda through research and learning, rapid prototyping, and applied pilot market tests.

The role will be based in the Washington D.C. area and will require periodic travel to Capital One-s other locations in Virginia as well as to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor-s Degree
- 5 years experience and proven success in driving ideation, rapid prototyping, and applied pilots
- 5 years experience in designing and deploying innovation and group collaboration processes
- 3 years digital industry experience (e.g., ecommerce, social media, mobile)

Preferred Qualifications:
- A passion for engaging with deep consumer insights and emerging technologies to meet consumer needs in compelling new ways
- A track record of successfully evangelizing new ideas, work methods and technologies within large corporations
- Entrepreneurial or corporate innovation experience
- A high level of intellectual curiosity that is comfortable with ambiguity
- MBA or Master-s Degree
- An energetically collaborative and constructive approach
- Confident leading problem solving processes to tackle complex challenges with experienced professionals
- Advanced training and/or certification in facilitation of complex, collaborative problem solving, e.g., Simplex, Synectics, Kepner-Tregoe, TRIZ, wicked problem solving, GroupGenius, etc.
- Hands-on knowledge of core User Experience methods, including contextual inquiry, persona development, information architecture; and iterative low and hi-fidelity prototyping
- Compelling executive communication and presentation skills
