SALES DIRECTOR - NATIONAL SALES CENTER (NSC) Summary: The Select Accounts National Sales Center (NSC) is an agent-referral telesales facility in Elmira, NY. The purpose of the NSC is to support Select ¿s strategy to broaden our distribution footprint to emerging channels and to further penetrate our agency distribution channel. The NSC offers a unique view into the behaviors and needs of the policyholder at the point of sale. Combined with our claims and customer service capabilities, the NSC completes the full customer value chain and positions Select to develop a deeper relationship with policyholders. The Sales Director position reports to the Business Center Vice President, with matrix reporting responsibility to Sales Distribution. This role is responsible for mentoring, coaching, and motivating a staff of Sales Advisors, and for meeting sales and profitability objectives with existing and new NSC distributors. The Sales Director supports strong relationships with current agency partners, and works in conjunction with Sales Distribution for prospecting and on-boarding new opportunities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Hire, develop, and retain staff and top talent who will support profit, growth, and expense management goals. Support other business center teams as a sales coach and training resource. Direct all marketing and underwriting activities of sales staff to ensure that production, underwriting, sales and retention objectives are achieved. Participate in the development of strategic business planning activities that are designed to increase the NSC ¿s presence in the market while meeting and exceeding appropriate business mix, growth and profit objectives. Participate in the establishment of marketing and underwriting strategies and standards that reflect regional market competitive conditions for countrywide opportunities. Marketing and underwriting responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Meeting with Travelers partners as well as agency personnel to maintain and develop positive and productive relationships. Assures that contractual commitments are met and production opportunities are maximized. Work with other business units as appropriate to support market presentation objectives and seek out cross sell opportunities. Maintain a strong emphasis on positive customer experiences. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal resources (e.g. Underwriting Sales Centers, LPE, Claim, Operations, Product and Platform, etc.) to ensure delivery of all related service to clients. Key requirements for the position: Demonstrated compelling sales achievement and results orientation Strong leadership competencies with focus on ability to lead, train and motivate a sales team Proven relationship building skills with partners and employees Solid understanding of business insurance product and underwriting (preferred) Understanding of business financial objectives and can act in a decisive manner to achieve results. Strong knowledge of competitive market conditions. Track record of identifying customer needs and supplying appropriate production solutions.
